Opting to bat first, UAE made a mammoth 302 for five in 50 overs. Amjad Javed was unbeaten on 89 off just 61 balls that included five sixes and seven boundaries.

He also shared an unbeaten partnership of 134 runs for the six-wicket with Abdul Rehman who made 57 not out off 61 balls.

A solid total was ensured after UAE got off to a good start with skipper Khurram Khan (51), openers Saqib Shah (35) and Amjad Ali (37) building the perfect platform.

For Bermuda, none of the bowler was effective except for RJ Trott who picked up two wickets.

In reply, Bermuda batsmen were least impressive as they failed to build big partnerships required to chase a huge target. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals before finally folding up for 168 in 46.1 overs.

Skipper DL Hemp topscored with 37 while JJ Tucker made a fighting 30. Ahmed Raza again turned out to be UAE’s crucial bowler picking up three wickets.

Khurram Khan also bagged three wickets lower the order, while Shoaib Sarwar scalped two.

Brief scores: UAE: 302 for 5 in 50 overs (Saqib Shah 35, Amjad Ali 37, Khurram Khan 51, Abdul Rehman 57, Amjad Javed 89; RJ Trott 2 for 44) bt Bermuda: 168 all out in 46.1 overs (CR Foggo 23, DL Hemp 37, JJ Tucker 30, OL Pitcher 21; Ahmed Raza 3 for 29, Khurram Khan 3 for 25, Shoaib Sarwar 2 for 16, S Silva 2 for 37).
