In the final Solanki CC trounced Al Futtaim Motors Toyota by 129 runs to win the first edition of the tournament organised by Umm Al Quwain under the leadership of Mushtaq Ahmed.

Umar needed only 45 runs for his 125 runs which included eight towering sixes and 14 hits to the fence.

Umar was so aggressive with the bat that the rivals bowlers had no chance to penetrate his fort. His hurricane century helped Solanki put on 241 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Abdul Rehman scored a 26-ball 27 which included one six and three fours.

Mukhtar Q made 21 from a dozen balls and reached the boundary twice and over it once. Usman and Vinod remained unbeaten on 17 and 11 respectively.

Mohammed Kaif contributed 16 from 11 balls and hit one boundary while Sadatullah chipped in six.

Ghulam claimed two wickets whilst conceding 36 runs in his three overs while Qaisar bagged one for 15 in his one over. Mumtaz took one wicket but was the most expensive bowler conceding 43 runs.

Requiring over 12 runs an over, Al Futtaim Motors Toyota succumbed to the pressure and could manage only 112.

Ashraf M was the top scorer for the losers with 28 and Wasim Rana contributed 20 from 10 balls which included three boundaries and one six.

Mohammed Farooq scored 15 from as many balls and reached the ropes three times. Imtiaz chipped in 12.

Tariq 9, Asghar Butt 8, Rawof and Shahid Ali 4 each, Qaisar Mallik 2 and Mumtaz one not out, were the other contributors for Al Futtaim Motors.

Mohammed Umar was named the man of the final for his scintillating century. Mohammed Javid and Shahid Butt were the umpires for the final.

Earlier in the semifinals, Solanki CC beat Al Dhaid CC by 29 runs while Al Futtaim Motors Toyota edged past Cool and Cool by five runs.

Sixteen teams took part in the tournament.
