Varun Totadri’s Breezy Century Takes G Force Cricket Academy into Under-14 Final

SHARJAH - Varun Totadri’s breezy 107 runs helped G Force Cricket Academy beat DPS YTCA by 142 runs while visiting Feedem Western Cape (FWC) from South Africa pulled off a 53-run win over Zayed Cricket Academy (ZCA) in the under 14 semi-final matches of the Interface Gulf Cup 2010.

The tournament is organised by Young Talents Cricket Academy under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council.

In the G Force-DPS YTCA match played at the DPS ground in Sharjah, G Force piled up a huge total of 22 for five wickets after deciding to bat first in the 25-over match, a press release said.

Varun entertained the crowd as he hit four towering sixes and 11 fours during his 67-ball knock. Akhilesh Sawant kept Varun company with 59 runs off 56 balls.

Varun hit seven boundaries and a six during his stint at the wicket.

In reply, DPS YTCA were jolted by the G Force duo of Ayush and Hamza Tariq, who snared up three wicket each to bowl out the opposition for a paltry 80 runs in 17.3 overs.

For DPS YTCA, Shiv Mehra and Kamil were the only significant contributors in with 25 runs each.

In the other match played at the Zabeel Park ground, Feedem Western scored 138 runs for five wickets and in reply restricted ZCA to 86 for nine wickets.

Dayyan Galiem was FWC’s top scorer with an unbeaten 40 off 35 balls while Chad Milller (20) and Sage (16 not out) also added to FWC’s total.

In reply, Moaaz’s fine knock of 34 failed to lift ZCA as none of the other batsmen except Anirudh (10) were able to get into double figures.

Meanwhile, FWC defeated G Force by 11 runs to set up final clash with DPS School Sharjah in the under 12 section.

FWC scored 113 for four wickets and in reply restricted G Force to 103 for eight wickets.
