Yogi Group will take on Lanka Lions in the final of this popular Sharjah tournament which is organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council and supported by 106.2 HUM FM and CBFS as associate sponsors, a prees release said.
If the script holds good, Yogi Group could well end up recording a grand double as they have already made it to the final against Rufi Real Estate in the second Al Dhaid Ramadan T-20 Tournament for the Conmix Cup.
Powered by a solid innings of 40 by Swapnil Patil, Yogi Group posted a challenging 151 for seven in the allotted 25 overs. The former Mumbai Ranji Trophy player smashed four fours in his 57-ball innings. Avdoot (29 not out off 17 balls with one four and two sixes) and Salman Faris (19 off 20 balls with one four and one six) further consolidated the innings.
Asim Khursheed was the most successful bowler for the Abu Dhabi team, taking three wickets for 40 runs while Zeeshan Safer and Mohammed Nadeem picked up two each.
William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana, in reply, had their moments to wrap up the match, but they stumbled at the finishing line, thanks to some incisive bowling by Kamran Shehzad and Usman Hameed, who both grabbed three wickets each.
Shafeeq (25 off as many balls) held the innings together for the Abu Dhabi team, but despite a fine flourish by Sajjad Saeed who chipped in with a fluent 23 off just 11 balls with one four and two sixes, they could manage 148 for nine.
Kamran Shehzad, who was later named man of the match, conceded 22 runs for his three wickets while Usman Hameed gave away 38 runs for his three-wicket haul.
Ali Abbas (two for 33) and Salman Faris (one for 31) were the other wicket-takers for Yogi Group.
