In contrast to their early matches, YTCA bowlers maintained a tidy line and length to make life difficult for Durham, who won the toss and decided to bat first.
Rehan Ayrton provided the ideal breakthrough for the team, bagging two crucial wickets, while Vaibhav Chandrasekahr and Shive Mehra took one wicket each. Vaibhav was economical as well, giving away only 12 runs from his six overs.
For Durham, Gibson played a useful knock, scoring 38, while Hardy scored 24. However their scoring pace was slow, as the YTCA bowlers hardly provided any width for the Durham batsmen to score freely.
Adnan Kamil Khan once again provided a strong opening for the Dubai team, hitting 26 runs.
His brother Abdulla Kamil Khan was also in superb form as he smashed a match-winning 45, while Vishakh Chandrasekhar was not out on 32.
The Dubai side reached the target in their 23rd over, making their first win on tour a memorable one.
YTCA coach Prosanta Chanda was delighted with the victory.
“It was a great team effort and I am very happy with the performance of the boys. This time, the bowlers and fielders put up a spirited display, followed by equally good contributions from the batsman.”
Meanwhile, in one of the previous matches, a superb century from S Gaudie powered Cleveland to an impressive win over YTCA U-15 team.
Batting first, Cleveland coasted to 185 runs in their allotted 30 overs, thanks to a thumping 109 from Gaudie.
Though Cleveland batting was at their dominating best, the touring team got a boost when Ayrton took four wickets for six runs form his surprise spell of two overs. Vishak was also impressive, bagging two for 27.
The YTCA chase was promising, as at one stage the team were coasting at 100 for one, thanks to some superb batting form the brothers duo Adnan and Abdulla.
However, a middle-order collapse saw them losing nine wickets for 130. The last pair of Shiv and Vishakh tried their best to rescue the team, but eventually Vishakh got out for 17. Shiv made an impressive 19.
Shafiq was impressive for Cleveland, taking three for 26.
