Batting first, YTCA scored 121 runs in 20 overs with Shaun Ayrton scoring 48 (two sixes) while Adnan Kamil Khan scored a breezy 40 with eight fours. ZCA’s Jamal and Mohsin took one wicket each.
ZCA had to chase 78 in 13 overs and managed to score the runs in the 12th over. Vishakh Chandrasekhar took 1 for 15, while Rehan Ayrton (1 for 23) was the other successful bowler.
ZCA will now play Madan Lal Cricket Academy in the semifinals while YTCA will take on Durham.
Coach Prosanta Chanda was hopeful of a strong display from his YTCA boys in the next match.
The YTCA Team Manager Shahzad Altaf was delighted with the overwhelming response from the teams in Durham and the enthusiastic display by all the children participating in the tournament.
In another under-11 match between Durham City and YTCA, Durham scored 235 for 2 in 30 overs with Cameron scoring 50 and Adam 53 while Scott made 39.
Jai Mehra took one wicket.
In reply, YTCA made 120 runs with Nabh scoring well and Nikhil providing him good support. However YTCA’s middle order collapsed and they were soon all out.
