The Dubai Police have arrested two Britons and recovered narcotic drugs they allegedly intended to peddle. A police spokesperson said the recovered drug stash includes cannabis and pills that are banned in the UAE.
"The police referred the case to the public prosecution and the accused are currently out on bail," the spokesperson added.
The UAE has a zero-tolerance policy for recreational use of drugs, the officer warned.
"The penalty for personal possession can be up to 10 years imprisonment. Drug trafficking is punishable with life sentence."
