A 5-day-old baby girl was found abandoned at a mosque in Sharjah's Al Qasimiya area. The baby was found in a cardboard box near the entrance of mosque by a man, who was at the mosque for Fajr prayers. She was wrapped in a blanket along with some feeding bottles and other essential baby items. The Asian man heard the baby's crying and immediately ran into the direction of where the sound was coming from. He found the baby girl - who looked of Asian origin - lying in the box in good condition. CID, police patrols and ambulance services rushed to the site after the police was notified. They recovered the girl and transferred her to Al Qasimi hospital where she was admitted to the newborn ward. Police arrested the parents after an intense investigation. The case has bee referred to the court.
