Abandoned baby girl found outside Sharjah apartment

Another newborn baby girl has been found abandoned outside the door of an apartment in a Sharjah building, the fourth such baby to be discovered in the country over the past few weeks.

The girl was found when a tenant at a building located in Al Qulaiha area heard the cry of baby, and opened the door to discover a two-day old baby girl in a cradle outside the door, police said.

The tenant called the police who arrived at the place of the incident and carried the girl to Al Qasimi hospital. The baby girl was in a good condition and was now being cared for by Al Qasimi Hospital until police procedures are completed. The police have launched an investigation to locate the parents of the newborn.

Last Wednesday an abandoned newly-born girl was found crying inside a black bag in a garbage bin along a road in Ras Al Khaimah; the week before, the RAK Police found an abandoned newborn boy at a public toilet; while a day-old baby girl was found abandoned in Sharjah on Monday.
