The department also gets in touch with families to know the condition of a drug addict to ensure that whether they have rehabilitated or released from prison or has returned to drug use.
He urged people to call police on phone number 800 400 4000 if they want to report about their children who use drug adding that the police will deal confidentially with the information to help them rehabilitate them.
The follow up department also trains the drug addict to find job for those who abandoned drugs and provide financial assistance to them and to their families to ensure that they will not return to drug use. The department had sent 53 addicts who abandoned drug use to Umrah last year.
