The beggar identified as B.P was arrested while knocking at the doors in residential areas and begging.

The police said that they received information from residents about the activities of this man and a patrol team rushed to the area and found the man knocking at doors for begging. The police said the man was strongly built and was staying illegally after the expiry of his residency visa. He took to begging after he lost his job. He sent the money he received from people out of goodwill to his home country.

A top officer at Sharjah Police said that this incident shows the deception of these beggars who use various methods to pretend and look needy and poor. He urged the public not to give their charity and grants to these cunning people but approach the charity organisations that will forward their money to the right people who really are in need. He asked the public to call 06-5632222 to complain about any mobile vendors and beggars. The police inspection targeting the beggars will continue until the illegal practice is brought to an end.
