Boy hangs himself after ‘argument’ with father
A 16-year-old Emirati boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom following a heated argument with his father an hour before Iftar time on Saturday.
The incident happened in Al Quraia area of Fujairah.
His body was found by his mother who opened the door of his bedroom after he failed to respond to her call to come for Iftar.
The police received a call at Iftar time from A.M, an Emirati, that his son had apparently committed suicide as he found his body hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom.
The police rushed to the house and interrogated the family members who disclosed that a fight had taken place between the deceased and his father just before the time of breaking the fast.
After the fight, the boy went to his bedroom and locked himself up.
At Iftar time when the boy did not come out, his mother thought he must be angry and did not want to have Iftar with his father.
She then went to his room to get him so that he could have meal along with his father but was shocked at the sight as she opened the bedroom door.
The police examined the body and informed the Public Prosecution, which also checked the body and delegated the forensic doctor.
The body was taken to Fujairah Hospital and after autopsy.
The forensic doctor ruled out any foul play and ordered the burial of the body.
