The Court of First Instance sentenced two and cleared 11 others who were involved in a stabbing of a compatriot.
The men, all Pakistanis, in the age group between 20 and 35, have been on trial on an attempted murder charge.
The court sentenced the main accused to three months in jail and ordered him to pay Dh2,000 in fine on an insult charge.
Another main accused has been sentenced to six months in jail and fined Dh3,000. They will be deported after completing their jail terms.
The 11 accused, who attended the hearing earlier, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case was reported to Naif police on September 29 last year.
"I went to my cousin's house upon the his request. He called me at 11pm to tell me that some people harassed and attacked him," said the 21-year-old victim, a worker, who was attacked with a knife.
As he arrived near his cousin's, a group of men attacked him with sticks. "Some were carrying knives and stabbed me in the abdomen and thigh."
The worker then fainted and woke up in hospital. His brother, a 27-year-old driver, said that he learnt from the cousin, who was originally beaten by the men, about the attack.
"I went to my brother and saw him down bleeding. He was near the cousin's house."
The cousin, a 33-year-old Pakistani clerk, said that the fight started after one of the accused removed his laundry from where he hanged it in the corridor in his place and put it in the bathroom.
"When I asked him why he was splashing water in the corridor he insulted me."
Shortly afterwards, the cousin and his relative were attacked with knives and sticks by the gang, he claimed.
