The defendant, a Pakistani, is accused of touching the Emirati boy in an inappropriate way while the latter was sitting in the back seat of the defendant’s car.

He faced a molestation charge in the Court of First Instance. The verdict is expected on May 21.

The boy’s father, a 53-year-old employee, said during the prosecution investigation that he was at work when he knew about the incident on February 24.

“My wife called me up and told me to come home quickly as there was a problem which concerned our son.” At home, his wife told him that the driver who was in charge of taking his son home from school molested him.

The father then asked his son about what happened and the youngster told him that the driver touched his private part earlier that day. He also said that the driver had done it several times earlier.

When the father asked the boy that whether the driver asked him to take his clothes off, the boy said he did, but in vain.

The father learnt from his son that it was not the same driver whom he had assigned to drive him home. He filed a complaint at Al Qusais police station.

The boy recounted to the prosecutor that the accused stretched his hand and touched him as he was sitting in the back seat while driving him from school.

The driver allegedly asked him to take his pants off. But the boy would not take his clothes off and said he would tell his father. The boy informed his mother when he reached home.
