Dubai - The Court of First instance ordered that he be deported

A Bangladeshi has been sentenced to five years in jail for attacking a coworker with a knife and unintentionally killing him. The 38-year-old worker earlier denied in court a charge of assault leading to death. The Court of First instance ordered that he be deported after serving his time in prison.
A police lieutenant said the incident was reported around 9am on November 22 last year. "We went to the crime scene which was at a site under construction in Al Rashidiya. We found the victim badly injured and he was taken to hospital.
"We issued a circular against the suspect. The following day, the victim died and we arrested the accused. He confessed he stabbed the victim while they were at work following a verbal brawl. He claimed the victim initiated the attack," the officer said.
A Bangladeshi carpenter, 33, said they were at work around 6.30am when a "work-related brawl" broke out between the defendant and the victim. The fight got physical, with the defendant having an iron bar and the victim, a stick. "We kept them away from each other for some time and informed the supervisor.
"The victim later went behind the building while the accused walked to the kitchen. Later we heard someone screaming and we saw the victim bleeding. He was apparently stabbed in the chest. We could not restrain the accused then," said the carpenter.
