Duo jailed for consensual sex

The Court of First Instance also fined A.M with Dh3,000 and ordered him to be deported after completing his jail term.
The woman, a 23-year-old on a visit visa, identified as K.T from Tajikistan, has been sentenced to three years in prison and deportation for working in prostitution.
A.M is also charged with trespassing for breaking into her apartment and damaging her smartphone. A.M admitted in the investigation to having physically assaulted K.T. and said he had consensual sex with her. But he claimed that he had mistakenly kept her purse at his place.
K.T confessed to having worked in prostitution and having sex with A.M in return for him sending money to her mother in Tajikistan. The verdict may be appealed within 15 days.
