The Dubai Police have launched an investigation and a hunt for an unidentified person who allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl student in a school in the emirate on October 30.
The mother of the Emirati victim told police that her daughter was sexually assaulted by someone inside the school located in Al Quoz Industrial Area. The mother claimed that she went to the school at around 2.15pm to pick her daughter up when she noticed that her child could not walk properly. She said that the child looked nervous and scared.
The mother claimed that when she wanted to change her daughter’s clothes at home, the scared young one would not let her do that. Later, the woman said, she noticed blood on the daughter’s dress and underwear. The daughter then told her that an unknown person took her inside the school toilet and assaulted her.
The woman said she rushed the child to Rashid Hospital and a doctor confirmed that the girl was sexually assaulted.
An official of the school confirmed the incident and said that all working staff in the school are women. However, on the day of the incident, there was an event in the school. He said that he could not give further details as the matter was being investigated by the police.
