The Court of First Instance has sent four Emirati men in their early 20s to jail over sword fighting during a party.
Two of the suspects, aged between 22 and 23, got four years in jail for taking drugs and another six months on the charge of attacking and stabbing a compatriot with swords.
The duo, who has been charged with attempted murder, has also been ordered by the Court of First Instance to pay a Dh3,000 fine.
They were believed to have been high on drugs when they carried out the attack.
Two other Emiratis, an employee and a student, both aged 22, have also been sentenced to six months in jail each and ordered to pay Dh3,000 fine each on an assault charge.
They had a 15-year-old compatriot accomplice who had been referred to the Juveniles Court.
The court referred two of them and five other compatriot accomplices, a student and four employees, with ages ranging between 21 and 30, to the Court of Misdemeanors to face charges of assault, drugs and damage of property.
The defendants were arrested in Al Aweer after the incident was reported on February 21 to Al Hbab police station.
"Some of them were injured and were being treated inside the ambulance car," a police lieutenant said.
The officers went inside a farm and saw balloons and a DJ, which suggested that there had been a party.
Two cars were damaged in the 'drunken sword fighting' and blood splatters were spotted on other cars.
The stabbing victim, an employee, 25, said that the defendants came to him when he was with his friends.
"They were holding swords and did not look normal. One of them hit me with a sword in the head and another stabbed me in the abdomen. I was also stabbed in the hand. I was kicked and beaten by them."
The verdict may be appealed.
