A government official who forged a medical certificate request for sick leave has been sentenced to three months in jail.
The Fujairah Criminal Court has also ordered seizure of the forged medical certificate of the suspect identified as M.Sh.A, who is in his thirties. The Public Prosecution demanded the imposition of the maximum possible punishment upon the accused.
The defendant told investigating bodies that he forged the medical certificate as he had been involved in a traffic accident, which required him to undergo long-term treatment.
In view of that, the Public Prosecution referred his case file to the Criminal Court, which condemned him to three months in jail for the charge levelled against him.
