Maid in court for taking indecent pictures of 3-year-old in UAE

Dubai - She also shared them with her husband and relatives

An Asian maid molested her employer's child through taking indecent images of the girl and sending it to her husband and relatives, Dubai Court of First Instance heard on Sunday.
The 31-year-old Indonesian maid has been accused of taking inappropriate pictures of the 3-year-old girl and using social media to forward the pictures to her husband, ex-husband, cousin and sister.
According the records, the girl's mother had told prosecutors she had hired the maid on the condition of not carrying a cell phone. However, two months later she discovered the maid had two mobile phones.
Upon checking them, the 40-year-old Iraqi mother said she found indecent pictures of the maid among other explicit content. She was surprised to see explicit pictures of her daughter on the maid's phone.
"When I asked her why she has these images, [the maid] told me she sent them to her husband, ex-husband, cousin and a male friend," the mother had told prosecutors.
"Then I asked her why she would take such pictures of my daughter, she said there was no specific reason," the mother said. The maid had also admitted she sent the pictures to her sister back home via Facebook, WhatsApp and Imo. The girl's parents reported the incident to the police.
The maid is facing charges of molestation and spreading explicit content.
The maid had confessed to the charges during interrogation and when she made an appearance in court on Sunday.
The case's next hearing is on January 21.
