According to the prosecution, the defendant, 27, had sex with the compatriot victim in an abandoned house in Al Mankhool. They had a fight as he offered her Dh50 while she demanded Dh100.
The forensic doctor said the victim’s body was found in a very advanced state of decomposition. The skull and the hand bones were showing. The victim was in her mid-twenties. The cause of death was strangulation. The body had been lying in the house for nearly six months before it was found.
A police sergeant said the body was found in May by a municipality worker who entered the premises to check it up before it was demolished for reconstruction.
Through investigation, the police learnt that the defendant was involved in the murder. The police tracked down the defendant after his DNA sample matched with the saliva stain lifted from a cigarette butt found on the crime scene. He was arrested from the same area.
At first, the defendant denied having anything to do with the victim but he later admitted that he killed her. He said he knew that she was a prostitute and met her on that day to have paid sex with her.
They did not agree in advance on the sum he would pay her. They fought later as she asked for Dh100 while he was willing to pay only Dh50. The victim got angry and threatened that she would send people to beat the defendant up and make him pay. Enraged at this, the defendant decided to kill her because he knew people from her prostitution ring could execute her threat. — mary@khaleejtimes.com
