The one-month-old baby girl was found near a villa in Al Rahmaniya area on Sunday night.
A police source told Khaleej Times: "The baby looks more like an Asian rather than Arab."
According to the Sharjah Police, they received a call from the tenant of the villa about the baby girl who was well-wrapped in a blanket inside an open box.
The person told the police he followed the continuous crying of the baby to locate her and found her kept near the villa's fence.
The baby has been shifted to Al Qasimia Hospital, where she is being provided medical services and welfare care.
The police team, including forensic experts, have collected evidences of finger prints, footsteps and launched a rigorous search around the area for her parents.
The hospital will take care of her until the parents are found, and will then refer to Sharjah Department of Social Welfare.
