The Ajman criminal court has sentenced six Asians to jail for running a prostitution ring.
Three women found working as prostitutes have been sentenced to six months in jail each followed by deportation, while two men have been sentenced to imprisonment for one year and a half each, followed by deportation. They were held for distributing cards publicising 'massage services in a romantic atmosphere'. The cards had indecent pictures of a woman printed on them along with the telephone number. The third man, a customer, was given six months in jail followed by deportation.
The Ajman Police received several complaints from motorists living in Al Nuaimiya area that such cards were being placed under the wipers of their vehicles.
The police collected information and raided the apartment where they found three women along with a customer. The two other men were found hiding in the bathroom. During interrogation at the public prosecution, the first accused said she had come to the country looking for a job. However, when she failed to find one, the second accused contacted her and enticed her into prostitution and the massage job on the agreement that she could take 50 per cent of what would be paid to her by the customer.
She said that she massaged more than 20 men, but had sex with only three of them for which she was paid extra. She added that the second accused manages the massage centre cum brothel while the two men bring in customers.
The investigation report also revealed that the second accused confessed she manages the business and that she pays the two men Dh3,000 each monthly.
The report also revealed that the three women used to practice prostitution for Dh200 only. The fourth accused confessed he had found the card in the car and had contacted the number to receive services from the first accused for Dh200 only.
