A 20-year-old Emirati student, who allegedly drove his car while high on drugs and hit a road's divider, has stood trial in a Dubai court.
The incident was reported on April 9 to Al Barsha police.
The student has been charged in the Court of First Instance with using and possessing drugs, driving under the influence of narcotics and damaging public property.
According to the Dubai police crime lab's report, the student's urine sample tested positive for morphine, tramadol and another drug. A quantity of tramadol (80 tablets) was seized from him.
The court adjourned the hearing to June 28.
