Tourists were warned to avoid dealing with unregistered tour operators offering cheaper services, in the wake of three arrests made during the Eid Al Adha holidays.
Dubai Police arrested three suspects involved in two different theft cases and referred them to the Dubai Public Prosecution.
While the first suspect was arrested for pick-pocketing a GCC national, the other two were accused of stealing camera from a woman tourist.
He said that Dubai Police received a complaint from the GCC citizen that some one stole his money and that he suspected an Arab who came closer to him.
After identifying the suspect, the Dubai Police raided his flat and find the money in his possession and he confessed to the crime.
Bin Saree added that the Dubai Police formed special teams during Eid days, which included civilian and military patrols as well as police women, to monitor markets and shopping malls and to provide help to all tourists.
He said that the police had solved 99 per cent of complaints it received from people.
Major Mubarak Saeed bu Nawas, Director of Tourist Department at the Dubai Police, said that said all police touristic vehicles have been touring across the emirate and heritage areas to ensure safety a and provide best services for tourists.
Bu Nawas revealed that the tourism department at the Dubai Police arrested two Asians for stealing camera from a woman tourist. He said that GCC woman who was living in a hotel told the police that some one has stolen her canon camera.
The police managed to identify the Asian suspect who work in the hotel who confessed that he found the camera and he gave it to his girl friend.
The police raided her flat and found the camera and both suspects confessed to the crime.
