Thirty Egyptians and Emiratis are accused in the case and they included some UAE citizens who were tried in the sedition case which concluded on Tuesday.
Investigations conducted by the State Security Prosecution in the Case No. 13 of 2013 state security penalty, revealed that some of the defendants had set up and ran a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in the country - an offshoot of the international wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt - without licence from the competent authorities in the country.
The allegations include running the UAE branch of the outlawed organisation, striving to achieve its goals, setting up the administrative structure including a building to attract new members from the UAE, continuing their loyalty to the organisation, and financially supporting it by raising funds and Zakat (alms) and subscriptions without a licence.
They had also got financial support from the clandestine organisation, which seeks to usurp power in the UAE.
