Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, said the police received information that the three were involved in fraud. An undercover agent got in touch with the Asian suspect, who said for $10,000, two of his African accomplices would have “money pouring from the sky”.

The undercover officer agreed to meet the contact at the latter’s flat in Muraqqabat area in Dubai. At 6pm on the agreed day, the officer reached the flat where he found the Asian suspect. Around 8pm, the two Africans arrived and they asked the policeman to pay the money in the presence of the Asian.

Meanwhile, one of the Africans told the officer that he needed to go to an adjacent room where he had kept a magic box which would attract money from the sky and went inside.

The police posse, waiting outside the apartment, then raided the flat and arrested the Asian and the second African who were in the front room. The second African claimed he had not received any money and threw the money at the policemen.

The police seized a yellow sheet containing photographs, bloodstains, three chicken feathers, scissors, stones and a small bottle of a yellow liquid. The police also found two small plastic bags containing a brown substance and pieces of wood in the pocket of the second African.

The police also found the other suspect in a dark room. Green-coloured clothes covered the “magical box” which, the suspects claimed, would receive the money falling from the sky

Brigadier Al Mansouri said that one of the suspects had been illegally staying in the country.
