Two held with 83 heroine capsules
The Ajman Police have arrested two Asian men for allegedly smuggling 83 heroine capsules into the country and trying to sell them.
One of the suspects had swallowed the capsules while coming to the UAE from another country while the second suspect was in charge of selling them.
The arrests were made by the Ajman Anti-Narcotics Department after a tipoff.
A police officer said: “We learnt that the two suspects who had heroine were looking for a serious buyer of the capsules. A security team was immediately formed to investigate the case.”
After completing all legal procedures, the house of the suspects was raided and 26 heroine capsules were found hidden. “When the suspects were asked about the capsules, the first suspect told the police that he had swallowed 83 capsules before coming to the country from abroad.”
Based on his confession, the suspect was taken to a hospital and the remaining capsules were removed from his abdomen under medical supervision.
The two suspects are currently detained and will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
