Two Arab nationals were sentenced to three months in jail by the Sharjah court for capturing photographs and videos of a mentally-retarded man in an indecent manner and circulating those via social media. Both the men will be deported after their jail term. The sister of the victim told the court that she was shocked to hear from a neighbour about the videos of her 36-year-old brother being circulated on social media. When asked about the video, the man told his sister that two men exploited him while he went out to buy something from a supermarket. She told the court that all her family was in a mental shock. She said that the two defendants tried to reconcile and get pardon from the family, but the family members refused it because of the inhumane nature of the crime which affected all the family. She continued that her brother still suffered psychological problems while going out because of the act by the defendants. amira@khaleejtimes.com
