According to Major Khaled Al Hamadi, head of hard task at the Rescue Department of the Dubai Police, the operations room received information at around 9.40am that a worker had been trapped in a hole. Immediately, the hard task and rescue team rushed to the scene and managed to pull the worker out in half-an-hour.

The worker sustained moderate injuries after he fell in the hole which was two metres deep. A huge piece of concrete had partly covered the hole. The rescue workers had to first fix the concrete piece to prevent it from falling on the worker, drain the water and then dig and make the hole bigger to pull the worker
out as his legs were stuck in
the mud.
