A national strategy was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims at boosting welfare and economic prosperity of the residents of Dubai. In line with this, the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection Sector at the Department of Economic Development - Dubai (DED) has emphasised the role of the actual partners at all levels - consumers and trade establishments.
Businessmen have always been looking for a proper environment for their investments, which in turn, contributes to the expansion of their businesses and enhance the value of their capital.
This, however is only possible in secure and stable cities where the political environment serves as a catalyst for their businesses, rules and regulations secure their rights and proper and continuous campaigns make them aware of their duties. All these factors contribute effectively to boosting the purchasing power of the consumers and help attracting investments into the country.
It has always been the endeavour of the Commercial Compliance and the consumer Protection Sector to strengthen the relation between the traders and consumers, and conduct field studies on the two categories based on questionnaires covering multi-faceted issues like customer satisfaction about the services rendered by the sector.
It also conducts studies and surveys to find out the satisfaction rate among traders during the visits paid by field inspectors of the sector and their sophisticated dealings with the traders, even if some violations were found against the visited establishment.
Moreover, the inspectors trained the businessmen on how to maintain their rights and provide excellent services to the consumers.
