The SEZ had distributed a circular instructing schools to start preparations on August 24 and that students must attend classes on August 31. However, some schools ignored the instruction and delayed the start of the new academic year. “The parents have paid the schools fees for the full academic year and some of the errant schools have been asked to deduct the fees for the closed days from the total fees.”

The official stressed the SEZ would not tolerate any school ignoring the instructions of the ministry. The circular instructed schools to abide by academic the year calendar, fees, transportation, books, uniform and health services approved by the respective education zones.
