National squads competing in four categories aim to strengthen legacy after winning seven medals in 2023 in Saudi Arabia
The Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) fined 14 schools Dh10,000 each for starting the school academic year on September 7 instead of August 31, defying the Ministry of Education’s instruction.
A top official at the SEZ said the committee formed to visit schools during the first day of the academic year found out that students did not attend classes in these 14 schools.
The SEZ had distributed a circular instructing schools to start preparations on August 24 and that students must attend classes on August 31. However, some schools ignored the instruction and delayed the start of the new academic year. “The parents have paid the schools fees for the full academic year and some of the errant schools have been asked to deduct the fees for the closed days from the total fees.”
The official stressed the SEZ would not tolerate any school ignoring the instructions of the ministry. The circular instructed schools to abide by academic the year calendar, fees, transportation, books, uniform and health services approved by the respective education zones.
