Legal experts from the Ministry of Labour (MoL) interacted with school officials in a series of lectures hosted by the ministry. Some 374 private school owners took part in the guidance sessions.

Nadia Al Muhairi, Director of Guidance Department at MoL, said: “The campaign has benefited over 374 private school representatives ... We are aiming to spread further and reach the majority of schools across the UAE.”

Al Muhairi said the ministry’s team of legal experts were on hand to answer queries. Schools were informed about labour rights and laws governing the rights of school management and school teachers.

Experts explained ways of calculating overtime payments, in addition to other legal provisions that govern the relationship between both sides of the signed contracts.

“Throughout the lectures, our experts managed to answer most queries asked by the attendees, and stressed on the need to abide by labour laws that were mentioned in each contract, which will definitely stabilise the labour market in accordance with the UAE labour laws,” she added.
