Four new affordable private schools will be opened up in Abu Dhabi by end of 2021 to ensure everyone have access to quality education, according to the emirate's education regulators
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) said the American National Private School will be inaugurated this year, while the British-curriculum Al Basma Private School will open up a second site to increase the students' population.
Officials said some two existing premises will be expanded as part of the "affordable" schools initiative, a public-private partnership which started in 2018, to provide low-cost education. One of these schools will follow the Ministry of Education curriculum and the other will be Indian.
The tuition fees in the new schools will start from Dh10,000 for the school following the Indian curriculum. For US and UK schools, it will range between Dh20,000 to Dh30,000.
The new schools aim to ensure that all Abu Dhabi residents have access to high-quality education at affordable tuition fees, according to Adek.
Authorities said education is the cornerstone of the UAE's national development process.
They added that the private education system is a vital source of support for the government's aspirations towards contributing to the educational process in the nation through the provision of high-quality educational programmes, while supporting the economic structure of the country.
