The Abu Dhabi Education Council, ADEC, has launched a campaign to mark World Teachers’ Day, entitled, “Thank You My Teacher”.

The campaign includes various activities of appreciation by students and the community in general regarding the teaching profession and the vital role a teacher plays in society.

Speaking directly to all teachers across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ADEC’s Director-General, Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, said, “Quality education is a right. That is why teaching is a rewarding job. When you witness the success of your students and think back, you will be proud of yourselves and feel self accomplishment and gratitude.”

“World Teachers’ Day is a very important event for us in ADEC,” added Dr. Al Qubaisi, “We must never forget that many teachers taught dignitaries and important figures that play an important role in today’s society, and have become who they are today thanks to their teachers.”

To mark the important event, ADEC has launched the Thank You My Teacher campaign to run from 28th to October 2nd 2014, when students, parents, schools and the community in general are expected to honour teachers for the special role they play in graduating a successful and competent generation that contributes to the development of the UAE.

The UAE celebrates World Teachers’ Day on October 5th while many countries celebrate during the first week of October depending on their calendars.
