The Abu Dhabi University (ADU) will start a technical education centre to help students conceptualise their innovative ideas into inventions.
The Technical Innovation Centre, which will start in the 2015 -16 academic year, will provide students from various disciplines with resources they need to transform their creativity for the benefit of the nation. It is also meant to develop entrepreneurship skills among the students and inspire them to think outside the box.
Dr Aly Nazmy, dean of ADU's College of Engineering said: "The university has decided to invest the Dh1million Best m-Government Service award won by Electrical and Computer Engineering students to establish the centre."
Dr Mohammed Ghazal, assistant professor and chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, said: "The centre will be a hub for creative thinking and technical innovations not only for engineering students, but for all students who dream of developing innovations that can benefit the community." - reporters@khaleejtimes.com
