Abu Dhabi University’s College of Engineering received international accreditation from the world-renowned Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) after its success in passing international standards and procedures for ensuring quality education, curricula, learning outcomes and a high calibre of graduates.

Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Directors, said receiving this prestigious international accreditation is an outstanding achievement and a confirmation “that Abu Dhabi University has set its benchmark in educational outcomes to meet international standards applied by prestigious universities and accreditation bodies”.

The ABET accreditation was received for the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering programmes.

Al Dhaheri said the university is also currently seeking international accreditation for other programmes offered.

The Interim Provost and Dean of ADU’s College of Engineering, Dr Aly Nazmy, said receiving the international accreditation from the renowned Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET was not an easy task. It required several years of hard work and diligence to complete the procedures.

Dr Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of ADU, remarked on the quality of academic programmes offered by the university in engineering, arts and sciences, and business administration.

“Perhaps, further evidence lies in our graduate employment rates that have averaged at around 90 per cent,” he said.
