Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has launched the App Master competition for university students to develop a smart entertaining application for those aged seven years and above. Dewa recognises the role of young people in supporting and leading the sustainable development of the UAE, and to enhance a spirit of competition and innovation. The competition is open from January 25 to March 31.

The competition also supports our strategy to enhance social development and raise awareness of rational consumption of energy and water resources, especially amongst the next generation.”

Dewa will honour the top five winners at a ceremony to be held next June. The first place winner will be awarded Dh50,000 and a chance for a job interview at Dewa. The second place winner will receive Dh30,000, third place winner will receive Dh20,000 and the fourth and fifth place winners will receive Dh10,000 each.
