Dubai - The UAE Cabinet approved a new academic calendar with fewer school days slotted for the next three years. The school year will comprise of 175 working days according to the new announcement.
The beginning of the academic year 2015 - 2016 will be on August 30, while staff members will begin their work on August 23. Winter vacation will be three weeks and spring vacation two weeks. Students will conclude their academic year on June 23, 2016, and the staff members on July 5, 2016.
In this regard, the cabinet said it was keen on reviewing global practices relevant to school days, taking into account the conditions of the students and their families, while considering the education criteria contained in the national agenda of the UAE, which aims to develop a high-level education system.
