Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad-headquartered education provider Calorx Group, which runs several schools and social projects for underprivileged children in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, is opening three pre-primary schools in Dubai from the next academic year.
This will be the first overseas foray by any education group from Gujarat.
Indeed, egged on by the UAE’s plans to increasingly focus on the education sector, the group will invest INR2.5 billion in the next three years to set up 16 schools in the K-12 (KG to Grade-12) segment to accommodate some 10,000 students in Dubai and Sharjah. These schools will follow both international and CBSE curricula.
Manjula Pooja Shroff, chairperson of Calorx Group, said: “We aim to increase the number of schools and institutions from currently 40 to 100 across India and the Middle East with the first pre-school coming up in Dubai by April 2015”.
Calorx will roll out its plan in the UAE under Calorx International Education LLC, that will be led by Shailesh Iyer who will be the director for the group’s operations in Dubai which is already known as a top business gateway for the world. Calorx places great emphasis on knowledge sharing thus enabling the student to adapt and mould to a fast-changing competitive world.
