Indian school students in the UAE were on 'cloud nine' after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Grade 10 results for the 2018-19 academic year examinations on Monday.
Over 1.8 million candidates appeared for the board examinations this year, and the total pass percentage of the exams were at 91.1 per cent. According to ANI, the results in the top three regions are - Trivandrum (99.85 per cent), Chennai (99 per cent), Ajmer (95.89 per cent).
Most schools across the UAE said students have performed 'exceptionally well. According to the results obtained by Khaleej Times, top scorers include students from the Indian High School in Dubai, with 99.2 per cent, and the Millennium School, Dubai, where a student secured 98.6 per cent. Hard work and consistency were said to be the mantra to success for the toppers.

'Worked extra hard'
The Indian High School topper Buvaneswari Jayasankar, who secured 99.2 per cent, said she has been an academic achiever throughout her school career. However, she worked extra hard for her board exams this year.
A recipient of the Sheikh Hamdan Award for excellence and Sharjah Award for Excellence in Education, she is also a black belt champion in karate. Buvaneswari scored full marks (100) in Mathematics, Social Studies and French.
She added: "You just have to work hard, be consistent and focus on the NCERT textbooks. Apart from studies, I also try and read about current affairs so as to stay updated about the happenings around the world."
The Central School, Dubai also aced with a splendid hundred percent result including 9 students securing 90% and above. Out of 135 students who appeared for the AISSE class X Board examination, 58 students bagged distinction. Hana Ponnakkaran topped the school with 95.2 per cent, while the second top scorer was Almas Asif with 93.8 per cent.
According to a statement from GEMS Education, its CBSE schools have broken records with a 100 per cent pass rate in the board exams. GEMS announced 36 per cent of the students scored above 90 per cent and 20 per cent of students scored between 85-90 per cent. 
Unbelievable results: Schools
Ravi Thomas, principal of the Emirates National School, Sharjah, said students secured 100 per cent pass in the CBSE Class 10 examination. Out of 213 students registered for the exam, 48 students secured more than 90 per cent marks.
Neha Eldose topped the school with 97.2 per cent followed by Anagha Biju with 97 per cent. He said: "About 161 students scored 75 per cent and above."
Varun Jagannath topped Delhi Private School, Sharjah, with 98.8 per cent and Kosalesh Virla came in second with 98.2 per cent. Vandana Marwaha, principal and director of DPS Sharjah, said: "A total of 215 students achieved more than 90 per cent marks and 95.4 per cent of students scored distinction, indicating exceptional performance by students."
She said all the students of determination in the school scored over 80 per cent and the highest amongst them scored 94.2 per cent. GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai, has secured 100 per cent pass in the exams. Of the 559 students, 27.9 per cent secured an average of 90 per cent and above, 78.9 per cent students secured 75 per cent and above, and 98.4 per cent students above 60 per cent.
Asma Gilani, principal of GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah, said: "Out of 436 students who appeared for the exam, 48.3 per cent scored 90 per cent and above. A total of 19.95 per cent of the students scored between 85 per cent and 90 per cent and 99.7 per cent scored above 60 per cent." Arya Manoj is the school topper with 97.8 per cent marks.
In Delhi Private School, Dubai, the highest scorer is Nivetha Suresh Babu with 98.2 per cent. School principal said all students have achieved first division marks and 13 per cent of the students have scored 100 in Mathematics. Anakha Raj Deepa from the New Indian Model School topped the school with 97.2 per cent.
