The school will follow the ICSE Curriculum and initially admit students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Plans are afoot to open admission for higher grades in the near future.

Mousumi Dasgupta will head the new school as its principal. Addressing the media, she said the UAE needed quality schools to support student needs: “I see an urgent need for quality schools and we are well positioned to start operations. Strategically located at the Academic City in Dubai, DPS Academy meets the need for education of children living in Dubai as well as Sharjah,” she said.

“We understand that all children have varying capabilities and hence we have created an atmosphere that will enable each child (to) achieve his or her competency. We also believe that children grow and evolve more through integrated education than through mere syllabi-oriented teaching. So we allow for independent study projects and thematic approach to learning.”

DPS Academy will be spread over a 10-acre campus providing sprawling playgrounds, an amphitheatre, a semi-Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool plus a separate swimming pool for toddlers.

The school will also boast of well-equipped smart classrooms, language labs, indoor play areas for kindergarten blocks, medical centres with trained doctors and nurses, learning labs with special educators (SEN Teacher), counselling rooms with a trained counsellor, well-connected transport facility and a library. The school will also have CCTV cameras for enhanced security inside the campus.
