Dubai - Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Minister of Education, has announced the launch of the Ministry of Education’s Founder Award in memory of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The award, which carries a purse value of Dh4.6 million, is distinct in its methodology, standards and objectives which are aimed at inspiring excellence and unleashing innovation.

The award will be presented each year, with variances in its measurements and categories to reflect changing annual trends and emerging challenges in education. It will focus on creativity and innovation, and overall school performance.

The award will be given in four areas of excellence: School performance, distinction in innovation, financial performance, and creative ideas with real life applications.

First prize winners will be rewarded with Dh1.5 million, second prize winners Dh840,000, and third prize winners Dh560,000.
