The paradigm shift in the learning environment today is evident. Young learners now require a different approach to comprehend and assimilate, and with information available at their fingertips, traditional skills are no longer relevant.
"The need for an integrated learning framework, that did away with the monotony of the traditional textbook and made learning more experiential and hands-on, led to the conceptualisation of The Logix Engine in 2017," says Priyanka Chandanani, Director and Managing Partner of The Logix Engine. An educationist, Chandanani has to her credit not only a decade and a half of teaching graduate and post-graduate students, but she has also anchored Research and headed the Case Study Centre at a prestigious university in Dubai. Her immense exposure to pedagogical approaches, as well as a parental need to identify exciting learning platforms for her own kids, triggered the inception of The Logix Engine.
Open to those aged six and above, The Logix Engine aims to create academically skilled and curious learners via rigorous and relevant content. It develops competent, skilled learners with high critical thinking skills, who aspire to be tomorrow's leaders.
"The programmes place emphasis on developing the thinking mindset of students. Robotics and coding are exciting platforms, and students work through challenging exercises that encourage them to develop higher-order thinking. The lessons further provide them with an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts to physical objects, which reinforces learning," she adds.
Since its inception, The Logix Engine has seen nearly 400-plus enrolments across its programmes.
The STEAM concept
According to Chandanani, students tend to lose interest in science and math at an early age within the traditional education system due to its intensive nature, as research indicates. To reignite their passion for learning, The Logix Engine provides a fertile environment for young minds to master concepts through various programmes based on concepts of STEAM (STEM + 'A' for Arts). Each programme is developed using exciting, age-appropriate technology platforms, centred on 'Playful Learning'.
"From creative thinking and logical reasoning, to systematic 'out-of-the-box' problem solving, our curriculum and teaching style has been carefully designed to challenge the intellectual capabilities of every child, equipping him with 21st century skills," she says.
Programmes offered
Armed with a small team of passionate educators that hail from varied backgrounds, The Logix Engine has a variety of robotics and coding based programmes across different age groups that challenge its students to become more discerning to the world around them and become better problem solvers.
This also encourages them to experiment, make decisions and discover the consequences of their decisions, as well as critically evaluate probable solutions, which in turn enhances the quality of their outcomes.
"To date, we have developed more than 300 lessons across popular robotic and coding platforms, and our aim is to provide quick online access to learners and educators alike to enable STEAM learning," she says.
Currently focused on Dubai, The Logix Engine plans to extend its presence across the UAE and GCC in the coming years.
