According to the academy’s heads, the proposed curriculum of the 6th academic year, which covers studies of both Nabati and classical poetry, is set to witness more developments, one of them being the extension of the academic period to five months.

A research project for its new students is also being introduced. This year’s students will have to work on publishing a book specialised in all that relates to Nabati poetry and its various aspects.

Throughout the academic year, the professors specialised in poetry, criticism and creative writing will help students gain the knowledge required to understand poetry, as to its form, structure, theme, metre, rhythm, purpose and criticism.

The curriculum of the new academic year comprises a set of theoretical and applied lectures in Nabati poetry. Last year, 44 people enrolled in the academy, which welcomes adults of any gender, age and nationality. Basic knowledge of Nabati (Bedouin) poetry and classical Arabic poetry is required, as well as excellent Arabic language skills.

Registration for the 6th academic year will remain open until May 5. Courses will begin in mid-May.
