A senior official on Thursday said the primary, preparatory and secondary certificate examinations, to be held under the ‘Our Students Abroad’ programme, are slated to end on April 13.

Dr Adel Nuwaishi, Egyptian Cultural Attaché in the UAE, said Egyptian students registered in the UAE shall be tested at three locations in the UAE.

“These are the Cultural Attaché in Abu Dhabi, and the Egyptian Clubs in Dubai and Al Ain.”

He added that 467 male and female students will be taking the final tests this year against 450 in 2013 and 328 in 2012. “These include 148 in Abu Dhabi as compared to 143 in 2013 and 100 in 2012; 291 in Dubai against 260 in 2013 and 202 in 2012; and 28 in Al Ain in comparison to 26 each in 2013 and 2012.”

Dr Nuwaishi, who is also supervising the final examinations in Oman, said 285 students shall sit for final examinations in the Sultanate. “These include 224 in Muscat, 47 in Salalah, and 24 in Sahar.”

Students enrolled from Grades 1 to 11 of the general education schools and Azhari institutes will also sit for the examinations this academic year. “All exams will start at 9am and end at 10.30am, 12noon, and 1pm.”

Twelve inspectors from the Ministry of Education in Egypt shall be supervising the six examination centres. Eight inspectors will take care of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain and four will take care of Muscat, Salalah, and Sahar - Oman. “Every examination centre has been well-equipped and registration numbers have been given to students.”

Dr Nuwaishi said the Consulate in Dubai will send all the answer papers at the end of the examinations to the Ministry of Education in Egypt for correction. “The results will be announced three to four weeks after the exams.”
