A new CBSE school in Dubai will welcome its first students from April this year. The Bilva Indian School (BIS) has been approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to admit students from kindergarten to Grade 6 for its campus in Al Qusais.
Opened by Sharad Pawar, India’s Minister of Agriculture and Arun Jaitley, leader of the opposition in the Indian Parliament, the Bilva Indian School will have a capacity to serve 3,000 students.
The BIS campus, spanning over 240,000 square feet, is strategically located in Al Qusais school zone in close proximity to neighbouring residential communities as well as the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman.
Ahmad Mohamed Al Jafla, Director of BIS said: “Being a new entrant in Dubai’s education sector, our responsibilities are manifold. We have in place a strong academic and supportive system that sets the standard for quality. Our curricula led by teacher-experts in their fields, provides opportunities for students to excel in their areas of choice. We strive to make the students competitive by creating an atmosphere where students, faculty and staff thrive.”
Richard Monteiro, Principal of BIS said: “The school would train its students to look beyond academic efforts, helping them in the choices they make to face the challenges of life in a positive and dynamic manner. The students would be provided with the right opportunities that will help them develop their talents and abilities,” he added.
The kindergarten and early years curriculum at the new school will be based on the guidelines of the early years and Montessori approach to learning.
