HCT to set up international security academy

Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Mohammed Omran Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), have witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on establishing the Academy of International Security (AIS) at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Major-General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Major-General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director-General of Finance and Services.

The academy will include five centres — the Forensic Science Centre; Organised Crime Centre; Security Flexibility Centre; Security Technology and Cybercrime Centre; and Security Policies and Strategies Centre.

These centres will provide training programmes, along with the accredited continuous professional development programmes, in addition to advisory services and research in the field of security.
