The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced that it will open registration for applications for enrolment in higher educational institutions for the next academic year, 2015-2016, on October 26th for UAE national students and the children of UAE national mothers.

The National Admissions and Placement Office of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has carried out a number of integrated academic counseling programmes for twelfth grade students for the academic year 2014-2015 during September, and these will continue until the end of October, which include field visits to all public and private schools and technical institutes in the country.

The programme aims to educate and introduce the students to the process of admission and registration in public higher education institutions, programmes and educational opportunities for students, and the mechanism of registration and acceptance for external scholarships provided by the Ministry, in addition to private universities and their accredited academic programmes.

In the same context, the Ministry decided to give the students who have applied for admission to institutions of higher education the opportunity to sit for the CEPA- English exam twice this year, as the first exam is expected to be held on March 7th, 2015, and the second exam on May 9th, 2015, and the highest score of the two exams will be counted, in order to provide the students with the opportunity to meet the conditions required to qualify them to join government universities and colleges.

The Ministry seeks each year to open the doors early for national high school students to enter into the atmosphere of university study through the academic counseling programmes, in addition to opening registration early to allow plenty of time for students to carefully identify the disciplines and programmes of study they wish to attend.

The Ministry also enables them to modify their options later, after the submission of applications for admission, right down to the final declaration of the names of accepted students in public higher education institutions.
