More than 38,000 students at the government schools have benefited from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), an educational support programme.
For the 8th year in a row, the foundation has launched its annual humanitarian initiative, in implementation to the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and follow-up of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Foundation.
The foundation has launched initiatives at the local-level to support education through "in-kind Assistance for Students" project as well as paying school fees for a number of expat students who are studying at government schools.
As many as 38, 651 students from 656 schools as well as students of the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, the Zayed University in Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses, and the Higher Colleges of Technology across the country have benefitted from the aid programme.
This humanitarian and educational project is seen in the framework of KF's commitment to provide assistance to students and support all their eligible financial needs that undermine continuation of their education in a comfortable environment.
Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation said that the aid is in line with the directives of the wise leadership to provide all necessary assistance to students of low-income families under a criteria, terming the assistance as the biggest of its kind at the local arena. He noted that this aid is a source of social cohesion and brings solidarity among all segments of the society.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Education Council has also praised the charitable activities of the foundation which translate the humanitarian approach of Shaikh Khalifa.- Wam
